About

Let's start this again.

I've had numerous blogs over the years, all of which are currently corralled and mothballed - mainly because they no longer really seem to be relevant.  So - I'm starting again, with the shell of the most recent blog, because that was getting there, sort of.  I've weeded out a bunch of stuff, and am unable to use the same theme as it's been retired (curses), but if you ever saw the last blog, you'll probably recognise the style and content of this one.  It's somewhat subject to change.  It is not a blog "about" anything - other than thoughts about things which interest me.  This is reflected in the title.   The following is from Wikipedia (I know, I know) on the books known as "commonplaces":
Such books were essentially scrapbooks filled with items of every kind: medical recipes, quotes, letters, poems, tables of weights and measures, proverbs, prayers, legal formulas. Commonplaces were used by readers, writers, students, and scholars as an aid for remembering useful concepts or facts they had learned. Each commonplace book was unique to its creator's particular interests.

That's what this is, and why I've always struggled to write a "proper" blog.  All this time, I've actually been writing a commonplace.

Following hassles with WordPress, I'm trialling running this on Blogger again.  So far, it seems to be a lot more friendly...
